Job summary

Savanna in Leduc, Alberta is seeking an Apprentice Field Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. The role supports maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of drilling rigs, heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.

This position works both in the shop and in the field alongside experienced maintenance personnel while continuing to develop their skills through the Heavy Equipment Technician apprenticeship. You will perform preventative maintenance, assist with larger repairs, travel to rig sites,

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Registered 1st-4th Year Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice or in related training.
Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in drilling equipment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems on rigs and heavy equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and inspections.
Assist with electrical system troubleshooting and components.
Remove or rebuild mechanical parts as needed and support larger repairs.
Travel to rig sites for breakdowns and field repairs; keep service truck organized.
Document maintenance and inspections in required records.
