About the role

We’re looking for an Appraiser, Large Loss to join our growing team!

  • Establish rebuilding costs.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external claims adjusters on the outcome of the estimate.
  • Take part in negotiations to obtain restoration cost agreements with contractors.
  • You may occasionally be asked to manage customer complaints relating to the quality of repairs and restoration.
  • Upon request, you may be assigned to the regular loss team for indefinite periods to provide support with policyholders’ claims and inquiries.
  • Prepare and present technical training as part of projects to improve control methods and processes for damaged buildings.

What you bring to the table:

  • Diploma in building appraisal and/or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Five to eight years of experience in claims appraisal, with at least two to three years in large losses.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Xactimate estimating software.
  • Technical and practical knowledge of the restoration of damaged buildings.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-oriented.

Our hybrid work model provides the balance between working from home and enjoying meaningful in-person interactions.

Working here means you'll be empowered to be and do your best every day. Here is some of what you can expect as a permanent member of our team:

  • A financial rewards program that recognizes your success

  • An industry leading Employee Share Purchase Plan; we match 50% of net shares purchased

  • An extensive flex pension and benefits package, with access to virtual healthcare

  • Flexible work arrangements
