Introduction

Are you an experienced Machine Learning Scientist passionate about turning ideas into impactful machine learning solutions?

Join us to turn product requirements into concrete machine learning problem statements, run prompt-engineering experiments, and drive the transition from prototype to production. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to explore cutting-edge techniques, iterate quickly, and build systems that make a real impact.

Korbit is an AI‑powered platform that streamlines software development by automating code reviews, pinpointing bugs and vulnerabilities, and providing clear, actionable guidance on how to fix them. By eliminating manual review bottlenecks, Korbit helps teams deliver higher‑quality code faster while upskilling engineers through real‑time, contextual feedback.

Korbit was founded by ambitious PhD researchers from the Mila Research Lab (Quebec, Canada) and Cambridge University (UK).

The role

Reporting to the VP of Machine Learning, as our Applied ML Scientist, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Translate PRDs into concrete ML problem statements: specify inputs, outputs, success criteria, and evaluation metrics to ensure clear development and performance targets.
  2. Source, preprocess and annotate datasets end-to-end—defining annotation guidelines, QA checks and sourcing plans—to guarantee proper ML component development and evaluation reliability.
  3. Prompt‐Engineering Experimentation
  4. Rapidly design, run, and iterate prompt-engineering and other ML components trials using frameworks and tools like LlamaIndex, LangFuse, and LiteLLM; analyze results to refine prompts and optimize performance.
  5. Harden experimental prototypes into viable ML features: build reproducible, versioned pipelines and collaborate with engineers to embed code-review automation and CI/CD readiness.
  6. Cross-Functional Integration
  7. Partner with product managers, software engineers, and the MLOps to align on feature requirements, integrate validated prototypes into production services, and ensure smooth handoffs.
  8. Scalability & Maintainability
  9. Embed best practices for modular design, version control, and documentation; anticipate growth by architecting solutions that scale with data volume and complexity.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in ML/AI, with strong Python skills.
  • Proven end-to-end data strategy: sourcing, preprocessing, annotation guidelines & QA
  • Hands-on expertise with prompt engineering on LLMs and version control of experiments.
  • Expertise in interpreting product requirements into ML problem statements.
  • Excellent cross-functional English communication & documentation skills.
