Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT production support, software development, or business systems analysis.
• Strong proficiency in SQL with complex queries.
• Hands-on troubleshooting with Java, Angular, React, Node.js, Apache Camel, Python, or TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Development & System Maintenance: produce break-fixes, system enhancements, security upgrades, modernization initiatives.
• Root Cause Analysis & Monitoring: deep-dive RCA and improved logging to mitigate risks.
• Reverse Engineering & Troubleshooting: resolve critical production issues and support upgrades.
• Technical Documentation: author design docs, proposals, workflow diagrams, and specs.
• Incident Management & Operational Support: respond to issues and participate in on-call rotations.
• Agile Collaboration: work with IT and business teams in an agile framework.
• Continuous Improvement: evaluate architecture and design for improvements.

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Developer to join a dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring system stability, functionality, and performance across core business applications.

Combining hands-on software development with complex technical problem-solving, you will handle everything from production break-fixes and system enhancements to architecture modernizations and security upgrades. This role is ideal for a proactive developer who thrives in an agile environment and bridges the gap between technical execution and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Development & System Maintenance: Execute development tasks spanning production break-fixes, system enhancements, security upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
• Root Cause Analysis & Monitoring: Conduct deep-dive root cause analysis for recurring technical and business issues. Identify monitoring gaps and enhance logging mechanisms to mitigate future risks.
• Reverse Engineering & Troubleshooting: Reverse engineer complex system modules and contained code blocks to resolve critical production issues and support upgrades.
• Technical Documentation: Author detailed system-level artifacts, including design documentation, solution proposals, workflow diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Incident Management & Operational Support: Respond to and resolve technical issues and service requests. Participate in on-call and weekend support rotations for software releases, system patching, and incident response.
• Agile Collaboration: Work collaboratively across IT and business teams within an agile framework to deliver strategic, high-quality software solutions that meet reliability, security, and usability standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate current architectural and design practices to recommend process enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT production support, software development, or business systems analysis.
• Database & SQL: Strong proficiency in SQL, with proven experience writing and debugging complex queries.
• Development & Tech Stack: Hands-on troubleshooting experience with applications built on Java, Angular, React, Node.js, Apache Camel, Python, or TypeScript.
• Messaging Systems: Demonstrated experience troubleshooting MQ channel issues.
• ITSM Knowledge: Familiarity with IT Service Management tools and frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
• Communication & Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities with the capacity to translate complex business requirements into clear technical concepts.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with cloud platforms and modern cloud architectures.
• Domain experience with insurance systems and integrations (e.g., underwriting, claims, actuarial, or finance).
