Join to apply for the Application Engineer II role at AVL in North America

AVL TSI Canada, part of AVL Test Systems, Inc., is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support a customer in Ontario.

The Application Engineer II will commission test systems, integrate subsystems for complex testing requirements, and focus on testing & application development for E-Drive systems. This includes troubleshooting and developing solutions, with a focus on electrification markets such as battery testing/emulation, inverters, eMotors, and eAxles.

Candidates must manage projects on-site, work with a Project Manager on cost and time estimates, and have 3-5+ years of related experience in electrification, electronics, or software. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential due to direct customer interaction. Travel will be approximately 30-45%.

Applicants must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with test automation equipment, instrumentation, electrical processes, testing methods, and applications
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Background in electrification, power electronics, or testing
  • Strong software adaptation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of PC operations, Windows, and networking
