About Us
The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement (SBP) supplies a full range of IT services to government ministries and agencies. It supports government customers with help desk, hardware and software, application development and IT security services. The ITD also sets government-wide policies and standards in IT infrastructure, IT support services and security.
The Application Portfolio Management (APM) team provides the day-to-day operations, governance and support for application data, processes and reporting in support of application lifecycle management leading and driving a customer-focused, practical, and secure culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage systems and knowledge. The APM team strives to develop strong partnerships with peers, technology leads and leaders across ITD / SBP in order to manage application risk and investment as they are accountable for delivering the vision and strategy for the APM roadmap.
The Opportunity
The Citizen-Centric Program Delivery Branch within ITD is actively seeking an effective communicator and cross-team collaborator for the role of Application Architecture Technologist. Reporting to a Senior Planner, Application Portfolio Manager, you will ensure the suite of applications being used by an organization to create the composite architecture is scalable, reliable, available, and manageable. The Application Architect Technologist will be responsible for defining how multiple applications are poised to work together. You will be consulting with senior business managers on application requirements, incorporating desired functionalities into application roadmaps and investment plans, and supervising application development stages.
To ensure success as an application architecture technologist, you should exhibit extensive application development knowledge and experience in evaluating business needs. A top-notch Application Architect Technologist will be someone whose expertise in application architecture translates into optimized business operations.
Application Architect Technologist Responsibilities :
The ideal applicant will be technically strong with excellent communication skills and will work with team members throughout all processes of the project lifecycle in some capacity. As an Application Architect Technologist, you will be working with clients and design teams to discuss project plans, designs, schedules and proposals, and work according to these to produce high quality working drawing packages, roadmaps, implementation documents, and blueprints to guide project initiation and onboarding, and to inform detailed solution architecture. You will use your 2 - 8 years of professional experience in application development / architectural design with exceptional skills in application lifecycle road mapping and preparation of application related artifacts to do mark ups and changes to ensure conceived projects are finished as per plan and accurately documented. Candidates must also have a thorough knowledge of ITSM, Enterprise Architecture frameworks, with the ability to work independently, developing and coordinating application plans and document checking. Some contract administration work will also be undertaken with support from senior staff.
