A day in the life

As an Apple Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll work collaboratively across diverse teams, while also independently contributing to the following key responsibilities:

  • Device Management Expertise: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for macOS/iOS/iPadOS endpoint management, helping ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Lifecyle Management: Develop and maintain device lifecycle processes such as:
    • Zero‑touch deployments
    • Policy creation
    • Configuration profile development
    • OS updates
    • Application packaging and management
    • Endpoint security
  • Production Support: Provide ongoing support for endpoint management across a large, geographically distributed environment.
  • Automation & Documentation: Automate processes and document operational procedures to increase efficiency and transparency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Research, design, and implement new technologies and solutions to improve the end‑user and business experience.
  • Collaboration: Work cross‑functionally with other technical and non‑technical teams to align on objectives and deliver results.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Actively participate in mentoring junior team members guiding them through the complexities of our systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, Scrum Master, and other key stakeholders to ensure project scope and technical requirements are met.

Skills and Requirements
  • Has 3+ years of relevant experience with Enterprise Mobility Management (macOS and iOS/iPadOS)
  • Device management experience
    • Expertise in configuring and managing device lifecycle processes in Jamf Pro.
    • Experience with Entra ID and Microsoft 365 services, including deployment and configuration.
    • Proficiency in using Jamf Pro to deploy software, manage configurations, and optimize user experience.
  • Experience with Bash, PowerShell, and Graph API scripting to create and maintain custom automation scripts.
    • Maintaining scripts using version control.
  • Experience in deploying security policies, upgrading macOS/iOS/iPadOS, and managing security vulnerability updates.
    • Familiarity with Jamf Configuration Profiles, Smart Groups, and reporting/analytics to optimize device management.
  • Strong knowledge of Entra ID, Microsoft Security, and endpoint security practices.
