Job summary

Purple-Brand in Vancouver, BC, is seeking an Apparel Product Developer to own fit, quality and construction for denim and luxury basics. You’ll lead fittings, grade specs, and collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency with brand guidelines.

Strong detail orientation, organizational skills and a proactive approach are essential. You will work on-site at our Vancouver office, contributing to design development from prototype through production and supporting continuous improvement across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of apparel technical development or product development.
• Hands-on experience with garment measurements and POM.
• Proficiency in using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge or experience in fittings.
• Ability to work in metric and imperial, including fractions.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed and accurate garment techpacks, including BOM, specifications, and design details.
• Spec and evaluate fits samples to determine measurements, workmanship, construction, wash direction, and fit.
• Maintain construction and fit consistency according to brand guidelines.
• Participate in fittings, preparation, measuring and photographing of prototypes, SMS, and PPS on off/ models.
• Grading and reviewing graded specs, and conveying comments and corrections to vendors.
• Analyze and communicate the outcome of fittings and construction and wash comments with the product development team and vendors.
• Liaise with international development teams in China, Japan, Europe and beyond to solve problems through sampling and production phases.

As the Apparel Product Developer, you take ownership of fit, quality, and construction for men’s and women’s denim styles. You anticipate challenges, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
