Job summary

Samsara Cycle Inc. is seeking a Print Designer who will lead original prints and work across the full apparel development process, from design to production. You will also assist with tech packs, sourcing, trims, and collaboration with marketing and operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design original prints, patterns, and graphics for apparel and accessories across seasonal collections.
• Assist the Design and Development Manager with preparing tech packs and managing strike-off approvals from factories.
• Submit and track lab dips, strike-offs, and print quality requests and approvals.
• Collaborate with the marketing team on creative assets.
• Maintain the print archive, trend boards, and reference libraries.
• Support communication with manufacturers.
• Maintain consistent file naming and notes on files and samples.
• Coordinate sample tracking and help communicate updates between design, marketing and operations.
• Support the Design and Development Manager in fit sessions — taking notes and photos, as well as flagging print/pattern placement issues on sample garments.
• Assist with trim and product sourcing, including researching options and requesting samples.
• Support fabric and material sourcing research.

Job description

We're looking for a Print Designer who can also support key product development functions — fittings, sourcing, and trim selection. This role is ideal for someone who wants exposure across the full apparel development process, not just the creative print side. You'll spend most of your time designing and developing prints, with the rest supporting the broader team as garments move from design to production.

Key Responsibilities

Print (Primary Focus)

Design original prints, patterns, and graphics for apparel and accessories across seasonal collections (florals, geo, novelty, engineered prints, placement prints, etc.)

Assist the Design and Development Manager with preparing tech packs and managing strike-off approvals from factories.

Submit and track lab dips, strike-offs, and print quality requests and approvals.

Collaborate with the marketing team on creative assets.

Maintain the print archive, trend boards, and reference libraries.

Support communication with manufacturers.

Maintain consistent file naming and accurate notes on files and samples.

Product Development (Supporting)

Coordinate sample tracking and help communicate updates between design, marketing and operations.

Support the Design and Development Manager in fit sessions — taking notes and photos, as well as flagging print/pattern placement issues on sample garments.

Assist with trim and product sourcing, including researching options and requesting samples.

Support fabric and material sourcing research.

Help maintain trim cards, fabric libraries, and supplier details.

From time to time, you may be asked to help with other areas of the business — for example, occasional support with customer service or inventory/shipping during peak periods. This may involve lifting and moving boxes (up to approximately 40 lbs).

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who has:

1–5 years of experience in apparel design and textile print (internships, co-ops, or strong school portfolio work count)

Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Google Sheets, Docs and Canva.

An understanding of repeat construction, scale, and placement for garment application.

A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Strong graphic design skills and eye for trends.

Ability to see and analyze trends, as well as take on board customer and marketing feedback and bring these to life.

A working understanding of garment construction, fit, and patternmaking.

Strong attention to detail and an organized approach to managing multiple styles and projects at once.

A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently.

Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to lift and move inventory boxes (up to approximately 40 lbs).

Nice to have:

Experience with athletic or technical product categories.
