Job summary

PAPER LABEL seeks a Designer to lead design and product creation, ensuring high standards in fit, construction, and quality. Qualifications

• Experience in leading seasonal collection design and ability to oversee a Design Assistant.

Job Description

As a Designer, you will work directly on design and product creation with the objective of ensuring product fit, construction, and quality are of the highest standard, while accurately representing the design vision.

This position requires:

• 4-year degree in Fashion Apparel
• At least 3 years of applicable experience in an Apparel Design role
• Experience across various apparel categories, from jersey to knits to wovens
• Ability to oversee and lead seasonal collection design and development, ensuring commercial viability and adherence to timelines
• Awareness of current industry trends in design, color, and sustainable fabrics
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment construction
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, Word
• Knowledge of Clo3D is a plus
• Ability to create and present inspiration, concept boards, and seasonal color palettes
• Experience in creating detailed tech packs in Excel for overseas factories
• Ability to communicate design ideas through sketches, technical drawings, and references
• Experience conducting fittings and providing feedback with photos and comments
• Expertise in sizing, grading, construction, and fit across multiple products
• Ability to identify and address fit, quality, and production issues
• Experience in fabric sourcing and development with overseas mills and local agents
• Approving fabric and trims for quality and color at each development stage
• Ability to manage a Design Assistant and support their skill development
• Collaborate with team members and partners to meet business objectives
