Job summary

Moneris seeks an API Architect to own the technical design and architecture of the Moneris API platform, collaborating with SRE and other tech teams. You will shape API strategy, conduct vendor assessments, and ensure secure, scalable architecture aligned with Moneris standards.

You will base in Toronto with hybrid flexibility and report to Senior Manager, Identity, Access and Secret Management. This replacement position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in software engineering or CS.
• 7+ years in large-scale software development, BI or data architecture environments.
• 5+ years hands-on API/backend development (NET/Java/Node).
• 4+ years API/backend experience; 2+ years cloud solutions (Azure).
• Experience with API security, encryption, caching and modern API idioms.
• DevOps pipelines experience (Git, Maven, Gitlab, Jenkins) and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end API platform architecture and security.
• Lead design, code reviews and delivery planning for API projects.
• Collaborate across teams to meet governance and strategy guidelines.
• Drive technical delivery including requirements, design, tests and deployment.
• Develop and share best-practices; contribute to public tech writings.
