Job Description
This position is part-time at 29 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with some flexibility.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of and experience in the safe use of a variety of hand and power tools.
- Problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and determining the best way to correct issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with vendors, tenants, and team members.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- At least 2 years of apartment maintenance experience.
This floating maintenance position requires driving to several properties primarily located in Hesperia, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Riverside, as well as 2 condos in Dana Point and Huntington Beach. Mileage reimbursement is provided by the company.
Duties include:
- Carpentry: Repair or replace doors, window frames, trim, baseboards, cabinets, fences, and gates as needed.
- Windows: Replace window hardware, screens, and broken glass, or coordinate with vendors for replacements.
- Electrical: Repair and install wiring, switches, outlets, smoke and CO2 detectors, thermostats, cables, breakers, lighting, and appliances. Conduct safety inspections of electrical systems. Basic A/C diagnosis.
- Plumbing: Diagnose and perform basic repairs, including leaks, breaks, unclogging lines, and septic system maintenance. Replace toilets, sinks, water heaters, supply lines, angle stops, and faucets.
- Painting: Repair drywall, prep surfaces, paint, and replace damaged wood and trim.
- Ground Maintenance: Keep grounds clean and orderly, including trash removal.
Requirements:
- Valid California Driver’s License and Auto Insurance.
- Reliable vehicle capable of carrying materials.
- Own set of work-related tools.
- Availability to respond to night or weekend emergency calls.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Comfortable working around pets.
- Ability to pass drug test and background check.
