Job summary

Sinclair Technologies, a division of Norsat International, seeks an Antenna Engineering Technician in Aurora, ON. You will prototype, test, and validate antennas and RF components for public safety radios, base stations, and telecom infrastructure, working closely with RF engineers to ensure high performance and rugged, compliant products.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Electronics Technology, 2+ years in RF prototyping, and proficiency with RF measurement instruments.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Electronics Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of antenna or RF prototyping experience.
  • Familiarity with antennas used in public safety/telecom.
  • Experience with RF measuring instruments (VNA, spectrum analyzers).
  • Able to lift 25 kg.
  • Able to read and follow assembly drawings.
  • Willing to work overtime/shift work.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and prototyping of antennas for VHF/UHF, LTE, 5G and Wi‑Fi.
  • Build and test antenna prototypes using soldering, PCB prototyping (LPKF) and 3D printing.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting with VNAs and spectrum analyzers.
  • Document test procedures and results; provide feedback to engineering.
  • Prepare markup drawings from prototype designs.
  • Assist with environmental and compliance testing (IP rating, vibration, thermal).
  • Maintain lab equipment and keep a clean, safe workspace.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, mechanical, electrical, and quality engineering.
  • Other duties as assigned.
