Our client is a leading provider of cutting-edge communication solutions, including RF and antenna products. They are currently searching for an Antenna Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of advanced antennas for use primarily with base stations, vehicles, and handheld systems in public safety, law enforcement, and mobile communications systems.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Design, model, analyze, fabricate, test, and measure innovative antennas.
2. Develop novel concepts and new designs that meet the long-term antenna needs of the company.
3. Perform computer-aided design and analysis of innovative antennas.
4. Provide antenna specifications, design requirements, and simulations.
5. Support R&D technical activities in collaboration with the antenna engineer manager/team lead.
6. Develop and test antenna prototypes in the lab and in the field.
7. Conduct near and far-field testing of antennas using state-of-the-art facilities.
8. Design antennas for low band, VHF, UHF, and 5G/6G mobile wireless communication systems, including challenging and novel designs.

Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in designing, simulating, analyzing, and testing antennas.
3. Experience in designing wideband and high-efficiency handheld whip antennas in VHF and UHF.
4. Experience with Satcom antennas, massive MIMO, and beam-forming/steering antennas.
5. Knowledge of latest antenna technologies such as 5G/6G MIMO, Metamaterials, reconfigurable structures is a plus.
6. Proficiency in antenna EM simulation tools like HFSS.
7. Hands-on experience with antenna rapid prototyping.
8. Experience with RF testing and tuning, including VNA, antenna pattern measurement, gain, efficiency, VSWR, and isolation.
9. Knowledge of Passive Intermodulation (PIM) and PIP.
10. Experience with PCB design software like OrCAD is advantageous.
11. Understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes.
