Job summary

Nova Scotia Health in Kentville, Nova Scotia, is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist with RCPSC certification to join a collegial team of ten full-time anesthesiologists. The position offers Fee-for-Service remuneration and extensive opportunities in perioperative care across a major regional hospital.

VRH Kentville serves a large surgical referral population with advanced facilities and an emphasis on education and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for a range of surgical services including general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, urology and ENT.
• Participate in preoperative assessment clinic and acute pain service.
• Participate in on-call coverage (overnight and weekends).
• Contribute to medical student and resident education.
• Provide support to the Western Zone as needed, including daytime and occasional overnight/weekend coverage.
• Ensure quality improvement activities and professional responsibilities within the Zone Anesthesia Department Head's leadership.
