Job summary

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking an Anesthesia Assistant at Dartmouth General Hospital to provide clinical and technical support in pre-operative areas, operating rooms and post-anesthesia care. You will ensure resources for anesthesia care are available 24/7 and report to the Manager - Department of Anesthesia.

Candidates must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist with current NSRC registration or eligibility, have Anesthesia Assistant certification, BLS-C and ACLS, and excel in

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists or eligible for registration.
• Completion of an Anesthesia Assistant certification required.
• CSRT membership with CCAA designation considered an asset.
• Minimum of two years experience as a respiratory therapist preferred.
• Current BLS-C (HCP) and ACLS is required.
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical support in pre-operative areas, operating rooms and post anesthesia care units.
• Assist in ensuring all resources required for the administration of anesthetic care are available and ready for use.
• Support the anesthesia team across QEII facilities in a 24/7 environment.
