We're seeking an Android Developer to join our team and work on the Power E*TRADE application, providing our customers with an advanced and high-quality mobile investing experience.

This is a Lead Software Engineering position at the Director level, responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:

1. Design and implement features for a suite of Mobile Android Applications
2. Learn and apply new technologies, best design practices, and usability patterns
3. Contribute to end-to-end system architecture, collaborating with back-end engineering specialists
4. Optimize performance of the app
5. Stay updated on the latest industry trends in mobile technologies
6. Collaborate with product managers and technical teams to create optimized and user-friendly experiences

What you’ll bring to the role:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
2. 6+ years of software development experience
3. 3-5 years of Android experience building native apps
4. Expertise in Kotlin and Java
5. Experience with the Android SDK
6. Good understanding of the MVVM architectural pattern
7. Experience with asynchronous programming using Kotlin coroutines or RxJava
8. Knowledge of reactive programming with LiveData and Flow
9. Experience working with RESTful API web services
10. Knowledge of dependency injection frameworks like Dagger or Hilt
11. Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
12. Understanding of source code control systems, preferably Git
13. Excellent debugging and optimization skills
14. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team
15. Experience with Jetpack Compose
