Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Anatomical Pathology Technologist to join the Mortuary and Bereavement Services team at Peterborough City Hospital, with occasional travel to Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

The role supports post-death care, mortuary administration, and coordination with bereavement services, coroners, pathologists, and funeral directors, while maintaining dignity and confidentiality and complying with HTA and UKAS standards.

Qualifications

• Compassionate care for the deceased and bereaved families
• Careful handling of post-mortem processes and mortuary records
• Coordination with Bereavement Team, Medical Examiner Service and Coroner's Office
• Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with policies

Responsibilities

• Facilitate admission, storage and release of patients
• Prepare patients for relative visitation
• Assist with post-mortem examinations and organ/blood donor coordination
• Maintain accurate records and use hospital systems for traceability
