Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline in Canada is seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations. You will support payroll activities, ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations, and contribute to continuous process improvements.

You will collaborate with HR Service Centre and internal stakeholders, maintain payroll controls, and assist with year-end activities and retroactive corrections as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Solid understanding of Canadian payroll tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced skills preferred).
• Understanding of payroll processes, controls and compliance.
• Strong communication skills in French and English.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, organisation and monitoring of payroll activities.
• Maintain payroll systems, internal controls and related records.
• Gather and analyse data for audits and special projects.
• Investigate and resolve payroll-related issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and optimise processes.
• Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll.
• Ensure confidentiality of payroll information.
• Support year-end activities, including reconciliations and reviews.
• Assist with retroactive adjustments and payroll corrections.
• Collaborate with the HR Service Centre (HRSC) and internal stakeholders.
