Job Description

The Total Fund Management Department

In Total Fund Management ("TFM"), we are building capabilities for long-term investment strategy management. TFM includes five groups: Beta, Collateral, and Liquidity Management; Portfolio Design and Construction; Research; Portfolio Management; Trading; and TFM Strategy and Business Management.

The Investment Engineering team oversees global trading and execution of all public assets (excluding credit) across major markets for all investment departments and the Balancing Portfolio. Trading is organized into three teams: Equities, Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC), and Analytics.

We are recruiting for a twelve-month opportunity in the Investment Engineering group, starting between June and September 2025. Eligible applicants include students in undergraduate or graduate co-op programs, non-co-op programs pursuing a PEY, or recent graduates from April 2023 onwards in quantitative disciplines like Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or Math.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the Analytics team in creating proprietary analytics and tools for trading insights and actionable outcomes.
• Collaborate with traders, coders, and data scientists on research problems.

Other Responsibilities

• Work with the Trading team to deliver global execution using algorithms and bespoke transactions across assets including Equities, Fixed Income, Currencies, Derivatives, and Commodities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate co-op program, pursuing a PEY, or graduated in August 2024 or later from a relevant degree.
• Specialization in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills for a dynamic, interactive environment.
• Strong research skills, curiosity, and scientific rigor.
• Interest in finance and investment management.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Coding proficiency in R or Python, experience with SQL.
• Data collection, problem definition, and data visualization skills.
