Job description

Meet Benevity

Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!

Benevity is the global leader in online workplace giving, donation matching, volunteering, and community investment software and we are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, this role will assist our leadership team with forecasting, analyzing and understanding our financial plans and results.

If you are detail-oriented and capable of handling and intelligently analyzing large amounts of data while supporting a company full of passionate people who want to make a difference in the world through their work – this role is for you!

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and business partners across Benevity to assist in the reporting and modelling of the revenue portfolio in support of the annual budgeting and monthly rolling forecasting processes.
  • Analyze revenue trends, operational metrics and key drivers to assess business performance and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product and Revenue Operations teams to gather insights on pipeline performance, market trends and client behavior to incorporate into revenue forecasts.
  • Deliver consistent and reliable variance analysis of the company’s financial and operational performance that is used to support decision making at the highest levels.
  • Be highly engaged in the annual budgeting process and long-term strategic planning initiatives, aligning financial plans with company objectives.
  • Support ongoing improvements and the continuous development of accurate, flexible and robust modeling, reporting and processes to ensure a timely, detailed and reliable basis for decision making.
  • Own FP&A data integrity and maintenance.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field (working toward CPA designation a plus).
  • 2+ years experience in a finance or accounting environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel with the ability to manage large amounts of data and perform related analyses.
  • Curious, naturally analytical, motivated to learn, question the status-quo, move fast… and break things.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, prioritizing competing deliverables and multi-tasking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Software-as-a-service or finance technology sector experience an asset.
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights (or similar business planning tool) an asset.
  • Experience with Oracle Netsuite an asset.
