Analyst, Finance (Financial Governance and Controls)

Join to apply for the Analyst, Finance (Financial Governance and Controls) role at BMO.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days a week in the office at FCP First Canadian Place (100 King St W, Toronto, ON).

The role involves developing or maintaining an effective financial governance and controls framework, including policies, guidelines, and programs to promote transparency, accuracy, and consistency. The candidate applies specialized knowledge of accounting, financial risk, regulatory compliance, and internal controls related to financial processes and information.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Leading or assisting in oversight/governance activities.
  2. Monitoring, measuring, and reporting on the governance program's status to stakeholders.
  3. Supporting the development and maintenance of the governance framework.
  4. Managing databases, supporting analysis, forecasting, and data visualization, ensuring data governance standards are met.
  5. Coordinating database management and data alignment.
  6. Monitoring performance, addressing issues, and producing reports and dashboards.
  7. Developing communication strategies and delivering tailored messages.
  8. Recommending governance and control solutions aligned with business strategies.
  9. Advising on the implementation of the governance framework and conducting oversight activities.
  10. Supporting policy lifecycle management, training, and regulatory reporting.
  11. Interpreting regulations and assessing their impact on governance frameworks.
  12. Maintaining knowledge of business risk management and legislative directives.
  13. Supporting communication on regulatory changes and managing governance meetings.
  14. Building relationships with stakeholders and supporting strategic initiatives.
  15. Leading change management activities and analyzing data for governance insights.
  16. Identifying and addressing issues, and supporting regulatory reporting review.
  17. Focusing primarily on the business/group within BMO, with potential enterprise-wide scope.
  18. Using judgment to solve problems and working independently on complex tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of business and regulatory environment required.
  • Experience with control frameworks like SOX 404, COBIT, COSO preferred.
  • Strong technical, communication, collaboration, analytical, and influence skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Salary:

$60,000 - $111,700 annually.
