Job summary

MNP is seeking an Analyst to join its Corporate Finance team in Calgary. The role focuses on evaluating capital positions, supporting financing mandates, and delivering high-quality client materials.

You will coordinate project logistics and collaborate with engagement teams to drive value for clients. The candidate will build financial models, prepare projections, and research market trends, contributing to strategic advisories and deal processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field is required.
  • Professional designation (CFA, CPA, CBV, CMC, CSC) or progress toward is asset.
  • Exempt Market Dealer registration is beneficial and will be required after employment.
  • 0–3 years of experience in professional services, capital markets, corporate finance, investment banking, or related fields is an asset.
  • Recent completion of the Exempt Market Proficiency Course or Canadian Securities Course is considered an asset.
  • Strong quantitative, financial analysis, and modelling capabilities; solid business fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist corporations in evaluating and optimizing their capital position.
  • Support financing mandates including debt, equity, or hybrid solutions for growth, refinancing, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
  • Coordinate project logistics, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
  • Build and prepare financial analyses, projections, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Identify competitive issues and performance indicators at macro and micro levels within target markets.
  • Research market and industry trends and develop strategic insights and conclusions.
  • Design and develop high quality deliverables including engagement letters, reports, and templates.
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value while meeting client needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist corporations and organizations in evaluating and optimizing their capital position.
  • Support the execution of financing mandates, including debt, equity, or hybrid solutions, for organic growth, refinancing, mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts, and other strategic transactions.
  • Assist in coordinating project logistics, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
  • Build and prepare financial analyses, projections, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Identify competitive issues and performance indicators at both the macro and micro levels within target markets.
  • Conduct research on market and industry trends and develop strategic insights, thematic observations, and key conclusions.
  • Design and develop high quality deliverables, including engagement letters, reports, presentations, correspondence, and templates.
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients while ensuring client needs are met and relationships continue to grow and develop.
  • Support engagement teams in delivering high quality client service and responding to client requests.
  • Assist with business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and marketing materials.
  • Manage internal deal administration and support client acquisition processes and tracking.
  • Regularly update business unit performance metrics, including populating and maintaining internal databases, CRM’s, and revenue forecasting tools.
  • Support the management of virtual data rooms and diligence requests from lenders, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare confidential information memorandums, lender presentations, management presentations, teasers, and process letters.
  • Conduct capital provider, company, market, and industry research to support client engagements.
  • Work collaboratively with the client engagement team.
Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field (required).
  • CFA, CPA, CBV, CMC, CSC, or a similar professional designation, or progress toward obtaining one, is considered an asset.
  • Exempt Market Dealer registration is beneficial upon hiring and will be required following employment.
  • 0 - 3 years of experience in professional services, capital markets, corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, or related fields is considered an asset.
  • Recent completion of the Exempt Market Proficiency Course or Canadian Securities Course is considered an asset.
  • Strong quantitative skills with a focus on financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of business fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high quality client-facing materials.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
