What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will execute customer due diligence for onboarding and client refresh in line with Regulatory and RBC Enterprise policy requirements for RBC IS Trust Institutional client portfolio. You will execute client risk assessments for RBC Investor Services Trust (RBC IS) institutional clients inclusive of Market Services (MS) business lines. Collection of all client documentation is to be housed centrally within the AML/KYC application. The RBC IS Due Diligence & Onboarding team is inclusive of other first line of defence (LOD) AML/KYC activities.

Job Summary & Description

What will you do?

  1. Work with Business Unit Leads, team members and associated stakeholders to identify, formulate, validate, document and communicate existing (and future) AML/KYC onboarding and refresh documentation requirements
  2. Act as a team member of the Centre of Excellence (COE) to ensure that information obtained is of high quality and satisfies the legal entity regulatory requirements inclusive of RBC Enterprise Policies and Procedures. Make judgement calls on the accuracy of client documentation versus RBC IS regulatory requirements.
  3. Perform Client Risk Scoring, Client Identification, conduct name scanning, and manage KYC onboarding/refresh/remediation across multiple business lines. Support other segments as priorities shift.
  4. Update RBC IS KYC systems and databases with current AML/KYC client documentation.
  5. Use business acumen and influence to escalate high-risk records or applications to AML Compliance and obtain necessary approvals.
  6. Track and report onboarding and refresh progress, including sign-off status and pending responses.
  7. Identify, analyze, and escalate risks to managers, Compliance teams, and stakeholders as appropriate.
  8. Complete mandatory RBC training timely and stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to AML/CTF.
  9. Participate in meetings to address gaps, risks, and process improvements.
  10. Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of AML/KYC experience with understanding of Canadian Regulatory requirements
  • Analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple touchpoints and ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills for clear articulation and professional interaction
  • Effective time management to meet team goals
  • Sound judgement in reviewing and validating information

  • Good rapport-building skills with team members
  • Working knowledge of Excel
