Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking a Data/BI Engineer in Dorval, Canada, to analyze internal customer needs, extract and process source data, and implement Power BI data sets. The role also includes designing and documenting new web applications and supporting existing IT systems.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering and at least three years of experience, with strong Transact-SQL, SQL Server (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS), BI and PowerBI knowledge,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science, software engineering, or related experience.
• 3+ years of experience required.
• Strong knowledge of Transact-SQL, SQL Server components (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), BI concepts, PowerBI, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the needs of internal customers and generate appropriate project plans.
• Extract, import, process and document source data.
• Implement data sets for Power BI visibilities.
• Design, implement and document new web applications.
• Support and improve existing IT systems (web applications and desktops).
• Provide leadership in the development of new tools up until implementation.
• Collaborate in continuous improvement activities with the team.
• Analyze and improve production processes through digital tools.

In your role, you will:

• Analyze the needs of internal customers and generate appropriate project plans.

• You have a bachelor’s in computer science or software engineering or other relevant experience.
• You have acquired a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
• You have very good knowledge in several of the following areas:
• Transact-SQL
• SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
• BI – datawarehouse, PowerBI
• Database modeling
• You have the skills to build partnerships with key players from different departments.
• You have facility with teamwork, you are organized and meet your commitments.
