Job summary

Alberta Motor Association is seeking an Analyst, Business Analysis to join the Finance team within Insurance Services. You will translate data into actionable insights, build dashboards, and partner with IT and stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions for AMA’s members.

The role emphasizes actuarial analysis, data modelling, and supporting corporate reserving decisions across pricing and underwriting. Hybrid work environment with ongoing professional development and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years hands-on actuarial analysis, BI, or related technical role.
  • Advanced SQL skills including complex queries.
  • Experience developing BI solutions or dashboards using Power BI.
  • Strong data visualization and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Python or R and insurance industry is a plus.
  • Actuarial reserving experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data-driven support to guide action-oriented business decisions across AMA.
  • Analyze and interpret data from multiple sources to identify key trends and opportunities.
  • Develop and manage dashboards and reporting solutions serving as a single source of truth.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and IT to validate and refine business requirements.
  • Present findings and insights to leadership in a clear, compelling way.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of critical data.
  • Support rollout of new analytics tools and processes.
