What is the opportunity?

As an Analyst or Associate, you will assist with managing the portfolio of Corporate Client Group (CCG) Borrowers. This middle office role works closely with CCG and other partners within the Bank to deliver a full range of credit and banking services to multinational and large corporate clients.

*** Please note: This role can be at an Analyst or an Associate level, depending on the candidate's background and skillset.***

What will you do?

  1. Manage credit risk associated with syndicated and bilateral loan facilities and trading derivative lines, including preparing credit amendments, annual reviews, reviewing loan documentation, and conducting annual risk assessments with financial modeling as needed.
  2. Monitor financial and industry information, regulatory events, external rating agency movements, and other early warning signals.
  3. Identify and assess deteriorating risk situations through credit analysis and propose actions to your Team Leader & Director to safeguard the bank’s funds.
  4. Verify compliance with loan agreements by checking performance against financial covenants, margin limits, and Bank Policy.
  5. Ensure bank systems accurately reflect key terms and conditions of credit agreements and documentation for the assigned portfolio, maintaining data integrity.
  6. Build relationships and interact extensively with functions such as Corporate Client Group, Risk Management, Global Loans Administration, Service Managers, and Cash Managers.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Strong credit, analytical, and technical skills; ability to critically assess financial statements and client reports, drawing relevant conclusions for action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team and interact at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to understand complex legal documents, prioritize tasks, pay close attention to detail, and perform well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-have:

  • Working towards an MBA or professional designations (e.g., CPA, CFA) or a postgraduate degree in business, economics, finance, or accounting.
  • Previous banking experience with relationship management, structuring, credit proposals, policies, and risk analysis.
  • Ability to read and communicate in legal documentation in French.
  • Familiarity with RBC Capital Markets credit process and loan agreements.
  • Knowledge of internal systems such as CCMS, TMS, & Newton.
