Job summary

Air Canada is seeking an Analyst, Agency Sales Programs to support the Senior Manager in developing incentive-based strategies for Global Accounts. Qualifications

The Analyst, Agency Sales Programs supports the Senior Manager, Agency Sales Programs in developing strategies based on commission‑based incentive compensation programs aimed at optimizing and maximizing revenue opportunities and improving the efficiency of Global Accounts. To this end, the incumbent will develop cost models, gather and support cross‑functional teams in a matrix organization to facilitate collaboration and consensus‑building, and contribute to achieving Air Canada’s business objectives. Working closely with regional, market, and account management leads, this person plays an important role in negotiating and developing commercial terms with Global Accounts, as well as defining key global strategies for this critical revenue portfolio.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of account‑specific commercial terms and contract negotiation strategies for Global Accounts, through coordination with and support for the Agency Sales team, leveraging Air Canada’s position in Canada to benefit other points of sale.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify and resolve key strategic issues for the company, develop costing models and forecasting methodologies, and produce reports and presentations summarizing findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Develop and direct communication channels between account teams, fostering the flow of ideas and information, including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks for each account across all points of sale.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Air Canada’s revenue within the Global Accounts portfolio and create business cases; present implementation plans to the Global Sales management team.
  • Support the development of long‑range sales plans targeting new revenue sources and distribution opportunities, in support of the Corporation’s commercial objectives.
  • Support the development of requirements to ensure the quality of Global Accounts communications, with input from relevant teams. Provide to Commercial Planning for automation and distribution.
  • Support and facilitate the communication of commercial initiatives that can be replicated globally to maximize impact and improve efficiency, and ensure a consistent global approach to managing Global Accounts across all points of sale.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Sales team to ensure efforts are coordinated and meet its objectives.
  • Monitor market evolution and macro‑environmental changes to assess their impact on Air Canada’s competitive position in the global market and develop appropriate strategies and intervention plans.
  • Engage Global Account leaders and interface with cross‑functional teams for the successful delivery of key strategic revenue growth projects.
  • Collaborate and communicate with joint venture partners to ensure alignment and identify gaps to improve competitiveness and profitability, and represent Air Canada in Global Account discussions with joint venture partners to ensure protection of Air Canada’s interests and requirements.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders (other planning groups, Revenue Management, Network Planning, Commercial Planning, Marketing, and other business units) to ensure clear communication of objectives, alignment of strategy and efforts, and sharing of market knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other managers and administrators to understand and evaluate results and performance metrics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of the airline industry and expertise in sales, business strategy, finance, and revenue management; a solid understanding of the airline economic context and economic and business principles is a requirement.
  • Proven analytical thinking and strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to examine complex data.
    • Ability to think logically and structured to solve problems.
    • Ability to structure a complete and logical analysis with minimal supervision.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Good understanding of financial and business concepts.
  • Ability to think outside the box and develop flexible approaches to solve complex issues.
  • Good commercial judgment and ability to quickly formulate informed recommendations.
  • Proven negotiation and relationship management skills.
