Qualifications

The Agency Sales Program Analyst supports the Principal, Agency Sales Programs in developing strategies through commission incentive programs that optimize and maximize revenue opportunities and improve efficiencies globally for Global Agency Accounts. This will require developing costing models, assembling and supporting cross-functional teams in a matrix organization to facilitate collaboration and consensus building in order to achieve Air Canada’s commercial objectives. Working closely with regional, market, and account management leads, this role plays a significant role in the negotiation and development of commercial terms with Global Accounts, as well as outlining overarching strategies for this critical revenue portfolio.


Responsibilities


  • Support the development of account-specific commercial terms and contract negotiation strategies for Global Accounts in coordination with and support from the Agency Sales team, leveraging Air Canada’s position in Canada for the benefit of other points of sale.

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify and solve key strategic business issues, develop costing models and forecasting methodologies, and create reports and presentations that summarize insights and recommendations

  • Facilitate, lead and develop account team communication systems that encourage the sharing of ideas and information including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for each account across each point of sale.

  • Identify opportunities and create business cases to improve Air Canada’s revenue standing within the Global Accounts portfolio; present plans to the Global Sales leadership team for implementation

  • Support the development of long-range sales plans that identify new revenue streams and distribution opportunities that support our commercial objectives.

  • Support the development of relevant reporting requirements that will provide meaningful insights for global accounts with input from global account teams. To be provided to the sales planning team for automation and distribution

  • Support and facilitate the sharing of sales initiatives that can be replicated globally in order to maximize impact and improve efficiencies; ensure consistency and holistic approach in managing Global Accounts globally in all POS

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Sales team to ensure alignment and support of our Corporate Sales objectives.

  • Track industry developments and macro environmental changes to assess impact on Air Canada’s competitive position in the global market in order to develop appropriate strategies and response plans

  • Engage Global Account managers and interface with cross functional teams to ensure that key strategic revenue generating projects are successfully executed.

  • Collaborate and communicate with JV partner to ensure alignment and identify gaps to improve JV competitiveness and profitability; represent AC in Global Account discussions with JV partners to ensure that AC interests and requirements are satisfied and protected

  • Work closely with key stakeholders (e.g., other planning groups, RM, Network Planning, Sales Planning, Marketing, and other business units) to ensure clear communication of goals, alignment of strategy and effort, and sharing of market knowledge

  • Collaborate with other Managers and Directors in the understanding and evaluation of performance results and metrics


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and/or a minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience

  • Strong understanding of the airline industry with expertise in Sales, Corporate Strategy, Finance, and/or RM; A solid understanding of airlines economics and firm understanding of economic and business principles required

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills;


    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to analyze complex data

    • Ability to think in a logical, structured manner to solve problems

    • Capable of structuring comprehensive, logical analysis with minimum supervision

    • Attention to detail

    • Good understanding of financial and commercial concepts


  • Ability to think outside of the box and develop flexible approaches to resolve complex issues

  • Demonstrates good commercial judgment and makes quick informed recommendations

  • Demonstrated negotiation and relationship management skills

  • Collaborative team builder and team player – able to adopt participate in different team formats and help build a culture of collaboration

  • Experience in working with remote teams that are geographically separated

  • Ability to work in a complex, quickly changing environment and to manage simultaneous projects while meeting deadlines

  • Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Expert users in Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.

  • Culturally sensitive.

  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
