Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to ensure accurate invoice posting and reconciliation. You will validate charges against purchase orders and receipts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong vendor communications.

2+ years of experience, knowledge of accounting principles, and bilingual French/English are required. The role offers a competitive wage, vacation, benefits, and RRSP matching in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a similar function and solid understanding of accounting basics.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel required.
• Fluent in French and English with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurate and timely review of vendor invoices for posting in AIM’s systems.
• Validate charges against PO and goods receipts or approvals.
• Identify and resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Follow up with vendors or AIM departments for resolution.
• Reconcile vendor statements with subledger.
• Monitor vendor payment schedules to ensure timely payments.
• Provide quality service to external and internal clients.

Job Description

What you’re responsible for:

• Accurate and timely review of vendor invoices for posting in AIM’s various accounting systems.
• Validate invoice charges against purchase orders and goods/service receipts, or that authorized approvals have been obtained.
• Identify and resolve any invoicing discrepancies.
• Follow-up up directly with vendors or AIM departments where necessary for discrepancy resolution.
• Follow-up with various AIM departments pending transactions.
• Reconcile vendor statements with the company’s subledger.
• Monitor vendor payment schedules to ensure that timely payment is received.
• Provide a quality service to external and internal clients.

Qualifications
