Job summary

Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is seeking a Unit Manager to provide operational and clinical leadership for Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy Services. This role leads multidisciplinary teams, drives recruitment and staff development, and partners with physicians to enhance patient access and flow.

The position emphasizes quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, and strategic initiatives, while ensuring compliance with standards and policies in a dynamic acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), or eligibility to obtain registration and a practice permit in Alberta.
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of progressive clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, patient safety, quality improvement methodologies, and patient-centred care principles.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and change management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and clinical leadership for Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy Services at GPRH and QEII ACC.
• Lead, coach, and support multidisciplinary teams.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, attendance support, employee development, and succession planning.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient access, patient flow, wait times, quality outcomes, and patient experience.
• Manage human, financial, and material resources.
• Lead quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, and service optimization initiatives.
• Support implementation of strategic plans and organizational change initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, collective agreements, legislation, and policies.
