We are currently recruiting an Alumni Engagement Coordinator to join the Alumni and Development department at SAIT. Reporting to the Manager of Alumni Engagement, this role is an integral part of the department's Alumni Engagement team.

As the ideal candidate, you embody a sense of welcome with a knack for customer service, you have a meticulous eye for detail and are a critical thinker. You enjoy building relationships with students, alumni and donors as well as colleagues from across campus.

You will work closely as a cohesive team alongside the Alumni Engagement Officers to build pride and a culture of lifelong engagement with SAIT, promote Alumni & Development’s programs to students, alumni and donors. This role will have a direct influence on the success of alumni and student engagement.


Key Responsibilities/Major Duties
  • Frontline service for the Alumni Engagement team - first point of contact for emails and phone calls.
  • Liaise with SAIT Schools, Departments and groups to promote alumni and student engagement activities.
  • Work with the Alumni Engagement Officers to lead and/or support engagement activities as identified in the Alumni Engagement Strategy and Real Futures Campaign Strategy.
  • Track alumni engagement.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training and supervision of student, staff and alumni volunteers for various events.
  • Coordinate SAIT’s official graduation photographer.
  • Assist with the coordination of the Alumni and President’s Awards programs, including but not limited to promotion, nominations, and recognition.
  • Assist with the on-campus Alumni Champions and Alumni Employees programs.
  • Assist Schools and/or alumni with coordination of reunion events and activities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Post-secondary education diploma or degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, or related field (equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered).
  • 3 years in an administrative or service role exhibiting similar skills.
  • Experience in post-secondary education and/or alumni relations.
  • Experience using email marketing tools.
  • Experience in event and/or project management.
  • Strong computer skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SAIT graduate preferred.
  • Communications and customer service background or related experience.

  • Genuine customer service oriented and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills -written, verbal and virtual - for critical work with students, alumni, and academic partners.
  • Ability to work productively under pressure to meet many different deadlines.
  • Sound judgement.

  • An ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people.
  • Team player with a calm demeanour and a big appetite for trying new ideas, sharing knowledge, and celebrating wins.
  • Flexibility, discretion, and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent administrative skills, including data entry skills, a strong ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and consistently pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and exceptional organizational skills.
