The role also supports the greater Engineering and Supportability Teams with various activities such as margin management, creation of Deviations & Waivers or surveys onboard the ships while alongside.The role may also be called upon to support the Minor War & Auxiliary vessels (MWAV) program. Activities would include the same support in terms of support to defect rectification and surveys but also involved the development and implementation of Engineering Changes.**Regulatory Compliance Requirement**This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access.**Key Areas of Responsibility**Assigned tasks are to be completed in accordance with Thales quality and commercial guidelines, contracted time and cost requirements. This includes but is not limited to performing the following:* Developing and reviewing electrical and electronic system technical documentation including equipment specifications, installation and maintenance job instructions.* Conducting technical investigations into problems associated with electrical system, equipment and/or software issues, including root cause analyses, risk assessments and solution development.* Preparing documented work scopes associated with Defect investigation/resolution, suitable for the solicitation of quotations from external resources such as OEMs, manufacturers, suppliers, testing facilities or specialist service providers.* Developing and/or approving technical Work Instructions.* Coordinate with other Thales staff (Mechanical, Combat Systems, Hull Engineering and Naval Architecture staff) and/or Subcontractors to achieve the agreed outcomes within the delegated authorities and responsibilities.* Analyzing requirements associated with baseline changes to the ships configuration, equipment and software.* Conducting electrical load design calculations.* Support Engineering Team for Engineering Change process.**Minimum Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering.* Registered as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia, Canada.* Minimum 5 years of demonstrated professional marine work experience within the last 10 years.* Language: English (Essential).**Preferred Qualifications*** 8 years of demonstrated professional marine work experience within the last 15 years.* Previous experience with the Royal Canadian Navy or Canadian Coast Guard.* Experience in delivering marine in-service support of operational assets.* Experience working with a defense contract.* Demonstrated project management experience.* Familiar with project management tools such as Jira.* Language: French (Desirable as a first or second language, with English second or first).**Special Position Requirements*** Schedule: 40 hours per week.* Work Location: Hybrid: Will be required to work from the Thales office or the dockyard (about 80% of the time) and home (about 20%).* Travel: Occasional domestic or international travel may be required in support of the ships.**Pay Transparency**The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is **$85,000 to 120,000 CAD** Annual.
