Job description

The mission

Join a purpose-driven flight crew that delivers decisive aerial support when it matters most. You’ll execute low-level, high-precision drops in challenging environments—including mountainous terrain—while upholding Conair’s rigorous safety and operational standards.

What you’ll do
  • Operate Conair airtankers on wildfire suppression missions in Canada and abroad.
  • Fly safe, precise profiles in complex terrain and variable conditions.
  • Adhere to strict SOPs, safety management systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in initial and recurrent training to maintain currency and proficiency.
What you bring
  • Right to work: Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada; able to obtain visas for international assignments.
  • Residency: Willing to reside in Canada during the fire season.
  • Licensing: Canadian ATPL preferred; exceptional CPL holders close to ATPL considered.
  • Medical: Eligible for a Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum flight time: 2,000 hours total time; 1,000 hours PIC; 250 hours in mountainous terrain; recent flight experience within the last 12 months.
  • Seaplane/Tailwheel (role-dependent): For seaplane or tailwheel aircraft positions, either 500 hours PIC on seaplane in a commercial operation or 200 hours on certified tailwheel aircraft is sought; lack of this experience will not preclude consideration for other roles.
  • Documents: Valid Canadian driver’s licence and passport.
Safety & standards
  • Maintain disciplined airmanship and precision in all phases of flight.
  • Champion Conair’s safety culture, procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
