Job summary

Unifi Aviation Canada, Inc. is seeking a Tow Team Supervisor to ensure safe aircraft movement on the airfield.

You will work with Dispatch Coordinators, Duty Managers, and Supervisors to meet safety and performance metrics, and to deliver a high-quality guest experience. The role emphasizes safety, operational excellence, and teamwork with responsibilities including leading the tow team, conducting safety briefings, coordinating with customers, and ensuring pre-operational checks for equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain a fully cleared Restricted Area Identification Card.
  • Must be able to obtain a YYC D/A AVOP.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for aircraft movement on the airfield and hangars.
  • Ensure safety of aircraft and personnel during towing.
  • Update task status using allocation software.
  • Delegate and prioritize aircraft movement with Dispatch Supervisors.
  • Lead safety briefings and conduct risk assessments.
  • Conduct quality inspections.
  • Oversee Tow Team during shift to ensure safe, on-time movements.
  • Ensure pre-operational inspections for equipment are completed.
  • Verify aircraft has required equipment after parking.
  • Liaise with customer control center to meet movement priorities.
  • Coordinate towbarless tractors and arrange maintenance checks.

Job Summary:

The Tow Team Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe movement of the airline partner’s aircraft and will work closely with our Dispatch Coordinators, Duty Managers, and fellow Supervisors, to ensure all assigned tasks are completed, meeting our operational performance metrics. There is a strong emphasis on safety, operational excellence, and guest experience.

  • Flight Privileges : Offered after 30 days for employees and eligible family members!

Job Duties:
  • Lead a team who are responsible for Aircraftmovement on the airfield and the airline partner’s hangars.
  • Responsible for safety of aircraft andpersonalwhile towing.
  • Updating task status using Unifi’s allocation software.
  • Delegate and prioritize aircraft movement with the support of Dispatch Supervisors and Duty Managers.
  • Lead safety briefings and conduct risk assessments.
  • Conduct quality inspections.
  • Responsible for the Tow Team on your shift, ensuring all movements are completed safely and on-time .
  • Ensure Pre-Operational Inspections for all equipment used during the shift are completed.
  • Ensure aircraft has the equipment required once parked.
  • Liaise with the customer’s control center to ensure aircraft movement priority is met.
  • Liaise with the customer’s technical operations team to ensure they have aircraft moved to/from the hangars.
  • Coordinate a fleet of towbarless tractors, ensuring they are cared for and the essential maintenance checks are arranged
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma , GED or equivalent education.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One + year of experience inaviationground operations.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Physical requirements :
  • Must be able to frequently l ift , greater than 70lbs a nd constantly lift up to 70 lbs; Constantly p ush , p ull up to 70 lbs; and constantly w alk , s tand, r each a bove s houlder, c limb , c rawl, s toop, s quat, k neel, & b end.
Working conditions:
  • Must be able to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends and holidays, overtime.
  • Must be able and open to work in outside weather conditions which may include severe seasonal elements .
