Job summary

VIAS Infrastructure is seeking an Airport Construction Inspector to support aviation infrastructure projects at commercial and general aviation airports. You will monitor construction activities, document field work, and ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and FAA standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction inspection experience on civil infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and drawings.
• Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars related to airport construction.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Airport SIDA/AOA access.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily construction inspection for airport infrastructure projects, including inspections during off-hours, night, and weekend operations as required to support construction activities.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, FAA requirements, and safety standards.
• Prepare daily reports, field notes, and photo documentation of construction progress.
• Verify quantities and assist with documentation for contractor pay applications.
• Observe materials placement and coordinate testing activities.
• Participate in construction meetings with airport staff, contractors, and project engineers.
• Communicate field issues, potential conflicts, and schedule impacts to the project team.
• Verify implementation of erosion control, safety practices, and quality control procedures.
• Assist with project closeout activities including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation.

VIAS Infrastructure is seeking an Airport Construction Inspector to support aviation infrastructure projects at commercial and general aviation airports. This role is responsible for monitoring construction activities, documenting field work, and ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and FAA standards.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, FAA requirements, and safety standards.
• Prepare daily reports, field notes, and photo documentation of construction progress.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction-related field preferred.
• 3+ years of construction inspection experience on civil infrastructure projects (airport or transportation projects preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars related to airport construction preferred.
• Knowledge of materials testing procedures for concrete, asphalt, and soils is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate active construction sites.
• Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
• Ability to obtain Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge and/or Air Operations Area (AOA) access.
