Job summary

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is seeking an Officer, Construction Security Planning to oversee security activities related to construction at Toronto Pearson. You will coordinate security implications, develop site-specific plans with project managers, and ensure regulatory compliance throughout all project phases.

This role requires 5 years in airport security operations, knowledge of Transport Canada regulations, and the ability to obtain and retain security clearance.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in airport security operations.
• Experience interpreting and implementing legislation, regulations and security policies.
• Experience with construction procedures and policies.
• Demonstrated experience working in a customer-centric environment.
• Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Attend construction meetings and develop site-specific Security Construction and Operations Plans.
• Assess developmental project plans for compliance with security regulations and policies.
• Develop interim security measures during construction and monitor compliance.
• Notify Transport Canada Security Inspectors about relevant construction security requests.
• Manage the Security Impact Permit process with the Contracted Security Services team.
• Implement a quality assurance program with audits/inspections of construction activities.
• Administer the Temporary Airport Security Pass application process with coordination.
• Ensure GTAA-approved security service providers are used for restricted area security services.
• Create briefing packages for major construction projects with security impact.
• Ensure certified Access Control Officers at construction points have required documentation and equipment.
• Create and provide a Security PowerPoint for Site Safety and Security orientations.
• Investigate security issues and implement corrective actions.
