Job summary

Air Canada seeks a Workforce Attendance Advisor to manage daily absences for Airports and Maintenance front-line staff under IAMAW and UNIFOR agreements. You will triage calls, review records, coach on absenteeism, and ensure accurate reporting while coordinating with reintegration teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, updating injury claims, and collaborating with branches to improve attendance and compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Airline experience and knowledge of Airport Operations are preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software.
• Familiarity with collective agreements and managing a unionized workforce.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of insurance boards policy for injury/illness.
• Resilient, adaptable leadership capability.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Triage calls and emails from employees reporting absences.
• Review attendance records to identify patterns and coach accordingly.
• Provide timely, accurate information and resolve inquiries.
• Monitor and coordinate activities to improve attendance performance.
• Assist employees in understanding absenteeism policies and procedures.
• Review daily absenteeism reports.
• Collaborate with Reintegration Advisors to address pattern absenteeism.
• Maintain thorough documentation and ensure accurate reporting and audits.
• Update injury claims for lost time incidents.
• Foster collaboration with partnering branches to support initiatives.
• Commit to ongoing learning in wellness, EI, mental health, diversity, and inclusion.
• Stay current with HR policy, collective agreements, and absenteeism regulations.
• Maintain accurate data entry and substantiation of employee files.
