Job summary

Portage College is seeking instructors for the Aircraft Structures Technician program at the Aerospace Campus in Cold Lake. You will deliver engaging theory and hands-on lab instruction while developing materials and assessments for adult learners.

Responsibilities include providing timely feedback, enforcing safety protocols under Alberta OH&S Act, and maintaining industry-aligned knowledge to support student success and program quality.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Transport Canada-approved AME basic training program.
• Licensed Aircraft Mechanic (AME-S/AME) or equivalent (e.g. Canadian Forces ACS Tech).
• Minimum of three years’ aviation maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of aircraft structures, including composite materials and painting.
• Adult teaching/tutoring experience would be considered beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging theory and hands-on lab instruction to students in the Aircraft Structures Technician program.
• Develop learning materials and assessments tailored for adult learners.
• Support student success by providing timely feedback and evaluations.
• Promote and enforce safety protocols in classroom and lab settings.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Continuously improve instructional practices to enhance student learning.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
