Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - M2

Job Description

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aircraft maintenance is accomplished in accordance with the policies and procedures contained in the Maintenance Control Manual, Maintenance Policy Manual, and Detailed Procedures Documents. You will also ensure that all aircraft technical documents and Canadian Aviation Regulations are strictly adhered to.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure maintenance activities are accomplished in accordance with the policies and procedures contained in the MCM, MPM, DPDs, aircraft and component maintenance manuals, and Transport Canada requirements.
  2. Maintain an AME – M2 license and ACA qualifications, as required, on company aircraft.
  3. Acquire and maintain Airport Security Clearance, AVOP, Passport, and full 'G' Driver’s License.
  4. Mentor new Apprentices.
  5. Liaise with the Lead and MOC regarding scheduled overnight work packages.
  6. Ensure all technical documentation, such as maintenance releases related to defects or Work Packs, is completed according to company standards before submission to Technical Records.
  7. Assist with ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance and generate logs for repairs.
  8. Maintain consumables and tooling in the hangar and service vehicles in an organized manner.
  9. Support AOG maintenance system-wide as needed.
  10. Assist in keeping hangar work areas, including all locations, clean and safe.
  11. Use SMS reporting program for hazards or incidents.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years aircraft maintenance experience
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • AME M2 license (Candidates close to completing exams may be considered)
  • Q400 experience (preferred)

Work Environment

Rotational shifts (5-5-4), with two weeks from 7 AM to 7 PM and two weeks from 7 PM to 7 AM, based at Ottawa International Airport (CYOW) in a clean hangar.

Job Type & Location

Contract position, Ottawa, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

$50.00 - $55.00/hr.
