Job summary

Porter Airlines Inc. in Toronto is expanding its Aircraft Maintenance team. The ACA - M2 will ensure maintenance compliance with manuals and Transport Canada regulations, mentor apprentices, and coordinate overnight work packages on Porter aircraft.

A valid M2 AME license and Dash-8-400 experience are highly valued. Candidates should maintain security clearances and CAR knowledge, while demonstrating strong organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Dash-8-400 experience an asset.
• Must have a valid M2 AME license.
• Holder of valid passport.
• Ability to obtain airside clearance (RAIC) with background checks.
• Ability to obtain AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operator Permit).
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of CAR’s.

Job description

At Porter Airlines, a rewarding Aircraft Engineer career awaits. Porter is offering Relocation Assistance up to a maximum of $10,000 for successful candidates located outside of Toronto.

The ACA - M2 is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft maintenance is accomplished in accordance with the policies and procedures contained in the Maintenance Control Manual, Maintenance Policy Manual and in accordance with the Detailed Procedures Documents. AMEs are also responsible for ensuring all aircraft technical documents and Canadian Aviation Regulations are adhered to.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance activities are accomplished in accordance with the policies and procedures contained in the MCM, MPM, DPDs, aircraft and component maintenance manuals and Transport Canada requirements;
• Maintain an AME - M2 license and ACA qualifications, as required, on company aircraft;
• Acquire and maintain Airport Security Clearance, AVOP, Passport, and full 'G' Driver's License
• Responsible for mentoring new Apprentices;
• Liaise with the Lead and MOC with regards to scheduled assigned overnight work packages;
• Ensure that all Porter technical documentation, such as maintenance releases, associated with defects or Work Packs is accomplished as per company standards prior to submission to Technical Records;
• Assist with ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance, and generate logs for any equipment that requires repair;
• Responsible to ensure the consumable materials and tooling stored in the hangar and service vehicles are maintained in a neat and tidy manner;
• Responsible for supporting AOG maintenance system wide as required;
• Assist the Lead in ensuring the hangar work areas, including all locations in hangar, office, as well as service vehicles and equipment, are kept clean in an effort to maintain a safe work environment;
• Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
• Utilize the SMS reporting program for any hazards or incidents that may occur.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.
