Job summary

Bombardier is seeking an Aerospace Loads Engineer to drive simulations and analyses for new development and in-service aircraft. You will build low- and high-fidelity models, contribute to automated frameworks, and advance nonlinear actuator modeling to meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong programming in C++, Fortran, MATLAB, and Python, plus knowledge of aeroelasticity, flight dynamics, and unsteady aerodynamics. Hybrid work options may apply at Bombardier.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace specialization preferred).
  • Experience in external loads analysis in aerospace projects.
  • Experience with nonlinear modeling and certification processes.
  • Strong programming skills: C++, Fortran, MATLAB, Python.
  • Knowledge of numerical and scientific computing.
  • Experience with high-performance computing environments.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Solid understanding of aircraft flight dynamics, aeroelastic phenomena (flutter, LCO), and unsteady aerodynamics.
  • Familiarity with time/frequency domain unsteady aerodynamics.
  • Experience with fly-by-wire systems and control law integration.
  • Understanding of airworthiness regulations and certification documentation.
  • Eligible for Canadian Control Good Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Conduct simulations and analyses to determine aircraft design loads for both new development programs and continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft.
  • Develop and maintain both low- and high-fidelity models to support loads analysis.
  • Contribute to the creation of automated frameworks and tools that enhance efficiency and accuracy in loads analysis.
  • Build capabilities for store separation loads analysis to support missionized aircraft programs.
  • Develop nonlinear actuator modeling tools to meet Transport Canada’s certification requirements.
  • Utilize a wide range of commercial and proprietary tools, including a six-degree-of-freedom aircraft simulator
