Aircraft De-icers work as part of a team to safely and efficiently operate aircraft de-icing trucks for the purpose of de-icing aircraft during inclement weather while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders. Please note that this is a seasonal full-time job. We have scheduled seasonal lay-off and recall that occur every year. It is expected that the candidate be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements; Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and twenty (20) pounds regularly; Employees must have the ability to climb 15-foot heights for work; Position involves standing or sitting for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms; Work outdoors for long periods when necessary; Ability to work in a confined space for extended periods of time; Wearing of personal protective equipment when required and full mobility allowing for freedom of movement in high-risk environment; Must be able to speak clearly and hear efficiently; Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; May be required to move, connect, disconnect hoses and be able to operate industrial valves and perform general labor duties.
Ability to obtain and maintain all security clearances required by Transport Canada or TSA and/or local Airport Authorities; Ability to pass pre-employment background screenings.
