Job summary

Cargojet is seeking a ground operations team member to support safe and timely loading and unloading of cargo and aircraft at our Ontario operations. You will ensure accurate piece counts, handle packages with care, and communicate with leads to maintain efficiency.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class 5 driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs repeatedly, with willingness to work outdoors in all weather and shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain RAIC security clearance.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and stat holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Load/offload of aircraft and trucks.
• Operate ground support equipment.
• Repeated lifting of packages up to 60lbs.
• Sort packages by destination and other parameters.
• Communicate piece counts and package information to Lead Hands and Supervisors.
• Handle customer packages and freight with due care and attention.
• Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
• Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance.
• Meet time-sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team.
• Learn and apply training modules (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention).
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Working in and around aircraft daily.
