Job summary

Homebuilders Association Vancouver is seeking an experienced Architectural Designer to work on renovations, custom homes, multi-unit and TI projects in the Greater Vancouver area. You will lead architectural concepts, supervise on-site measurements, and prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD and 3D tools.

The role involves client meetings and coordinating with municipalities for permit processes. The ideal candidate has AIBC certification and at least 10 years in BC single-family

Qualifications

• Architect AIBC or in process of securing AIBC certification.
• Minimum 10 years experience in BC single-family residential construction.
• Clear knowledge of BC Building and Step Code & Municipal By Laws.
• Experience with renovation and new construction Part 9 single-family residential.
• Excellent communication skills and command of English.
• Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.

Job Description:

• Architectural Design for renovations, custom homes, multi-unit and T.I projects
• Oversee on site measuring and drawing of as built conditions.
• Oversee + develop and draw working drawings for construction and permitting by utilizing AutoCAD, based on sketches and designs.
• Oversee + generate 3D drawings
• On site meetings with clients, professionals, and team members
• Architectural Design for renovations, custom homes, multi unit and T.I projects
• Civic liaison working with municipalities for permit application process

Requirements:

• Architect AIBC or in process of securing A.I.B.C certification
• Minimum 10 years experience in the B.C. single-family residential construction industry
• Clear + current knowledge of the B.C. Building and Step Code & Municipal By Laws
• Experience with both renovation and new construction Part 9 single-family residential
• Excellent communication skills and composure
• Excellent written and verbal command of the English language
• Experience and proficiency of AutoCAD and google SketchUp in addition to other similar software
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel and other basic computer skills
• Understanding of Worksafe BC residential construction Health & Safety Guidelines
• In this position you will be held to a high standard and must be willing to learn and expand your knowledge in this field. And build a growing collaborative team
• Built Green, Net Zero, Passive House and high-performance design experience is an asset.
