Job summary

EY Toronto seeks an AI/Application Modernization professional to help clients modernize legacy applications with AI-powered solutions. You will assess cyber risks and identify vulnerabilities while embedding AI in strategic modernization initiatives.

You will collaborate with diverse teams, design prototypes, and drive production deployments, delivering measurable value from modernization efforts. This role requires client-facing communication and security-minded delivery.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience in AI engineering, software engineering, application development, technology consulting, or related delivery roles.
• Diploma or degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software-development fundamentals and experience building or integrating enterprise applications.
• Hands-on programming with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#/.NET.
• Experience with AI-driven application development and modernization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to identify high-value opportunities for generative AI, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled modernization.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and modern frameworks.
• Build prototypes and proofs of concept, then evolve solutions into production implementations.
• Integrate hosted and open-weight models into enterprise apps, APIs, and workflows.
• Design and deploy open-weight models in client environments, including on-prem GPUs.
• Use AI to review legacy apps, identify cyber risks, and suggest mitigations.
• Translate client needs into strategic technology outcomes.
• Participate in client-facing engagements, workshops, and presentations.
• Deliver value realization and strategy work to achieve measurable modernization benefits.
