Job summary

Vanguard Canada seeks an AI Research Manager to lead high-performing AI research teams and translate research advances into scalable enterprise capabilities. You will partner with engineering, product, technology, and business units to shape impactful AI solutions for Vanguard.

Ideal candidates have extensive AI/ML leadership, strong collaboration skills, and a track record of moving research into production.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of AI/ML experience and leadership in research teams.
• Experience moving research into prototypes, reusable capabilities, products, or production systems.
• Strong understanding of modern AI methods, evaluation, and reproducibility.
• Ability to collaborate across research, engineering, product, business and risk teams.
• Excellent communication for technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Leads and develops a high-performing team of AI researchers and technical practitioners.
• Provides technical leadership across applied AI research initiatives and experiments.
• Builds strategic research partnerships and collaborates with academia and internal teams.
• Drives research from exploration to enterprise application and production adoption.
• Maintains depth in AI/ML and evaluates emerging capabilities for readiness.
