Job summary

Teck Resources Limited is seeking an AI Governance and Information Protection Specialist (Contract) in Vancouver, BC, hybrid workplace, to govern Microsoft 365 Copilot, Purview DSPM for AI, and information protection controls across a complex enterprise. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, Law, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Proven ability in information governance, data protection, security, compliance, digital workplace operations, technology governance, or enterprise AI governance.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview including sensitivity labels, DLP, audit, eDiscovery, retention, and insider risks.
• Experience supporting AI assistants within Microsoft 365 or similar governance initiatives.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Entra ID).
• Understanding of data classification, access control, oversharing risk, and AI-related data exposure.

Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
• Support governance and operational oversight of Microsoft 365 Copilot, including policy alignment, usage oversight, risk monitoring, readiness reviews, and collaborator mentorship.
• Coordinate with Security, Privacy, Legal, Risk, and business teams to monitor Copilot-related data exposure and remediation activities.
• Support Purview reviews addressing data exposure, over-disclosure risks, AI activity insights, and policy gaps.
• Review and suggest improvements to sensitivity labels, DLP policies, retention, and governance processes for Copilot and AI use.
• Analyze AI-related activity signals and translate findings into governance and risk recommendations.
• Support readiness reviews for expanding Copilot, enabling new agents, and integrating data sources.
• Ensure information protection, access management, governance, and monitoring align with Copilot use and risk posture.
• Maintain governance records, decision logs, and evidence of control reviews for Copilot and AI features.
• Collaborate across teams to align Copilot governance with operation support and issue resolution.
• Contribute to reporting/metrics on Copilot usage, readiness, information risk, and governance maturity.
• Develop and improve user mentorship materials, FAQs, policy interpretations, and enablement materials.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors supporting Copilot oversight and Purview management.
