About the opportunity:

• Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
• This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote and offers flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever best suits you.
• You will be reading English text to rank responses produced by AI models.
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.

Examples of desirable expertise:

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at a selective institution.
• A strong sense of writing style, with exceptional English spelling, grammar, logic, and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text.

Payment:

• Core project work by English writing experts in the US typically pays around USD $25 per hour.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs.
• For initial onboarding or overtime phases, lower rates may apply. Some projects offer incentive payments. Please review payment terms for each project.
