About The Opportunity
  • Outlier is seeking talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
  • This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote and offers flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever it suits you.
Your Contributions
  • Reading English texts to rank responses produced by AI models.
  • Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, including research and fact-checking.
  • Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.
Desired Expertise
  • Experience as a professional writer or editor.
  • Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline.
  • Strong writing style, excellent English spelling and grammar, and good logic and reasoning skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of texts.
Payment Details
  • Average pay rate for core project work by English writing experts in the US is USD $25 per hour.
  • Rates vary based on expertise, skills, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. Additional phases like onboarding or overtime may have different rates. Incentives may also be available.
